Why U-shaped bends can replace elbows
In fact, U-shaped bends can be used directly instead of elbows in many cases. However, the thin wall thickness of elbows cannot be smaller than the wall thickness of straight pipe sections. Moreover, U-shaped bends are standard components, so they can be used directly. In fact, the use of elbows in the market is relatively common.
However, after the emergence of U-shaped bends, they will gradually replace the use of elbows. Hot bends are mainly formed by direct bending using a complete set of molds. Regardless of the type of machinery and equipment, hot bends are generally required during use, including gas, oil, and infusion. They are also commonly used in aircraft engines.
Manufacturers of U-bend pipes hope to obtain bends with large bending radii. The main purpose is to reduce the erosion caused by materials on the bends. Therefore, in order to ensure the wall thickness of U-bend pipes, it is necessary to ensure that the bend r is at least 3 days. It is also common to use bends in high-pressure fertilizer pipelines, but it is difficult to meet the requirements for use on heat pipes.
The production and processing process of U-shaped bends can be mainly divided into two steps:
1、 Firstly, a polishing machine for U-shaped pipe bends is used for polishing. The main purpose is to effectively trim the end surface. After polishing the pipe fittings, electrochemical polishing is also required. This should be a relatively advanced process technology for surface treatment of all stainless steel products;
2、 Secondly, stainless steel products are used to electrolyze the surface of U-shaped bends, as electrolyte will be used, resulting in chemical reactions or ion transfer, mainly to ensure the flatness of the surface of U-shaped bends. After the above two treatments, it is finally necessary to perform a matte treatment on the U-shaped elbow.
Moreover, U-bend belongs to a relatively special type of curved copper pipe, which mainly integrates chemical components, mechanical properties, and other technologies. Moreover, U-bend is actually different at both ends of the cross-section radius. However, due to the relatively unstable welding of the elbow, it is necessary to choose a small bending radius.
